Willamette Uniersity Liquidators

Hello Liquidators,

I'm pushing back the origional starting date because most participants have expressed that they would rather play with more people. So we will wait until more have signed up. I'll let you know when the first game will begin.

Your Ump,
Scott Archer

Rules of Engagement

Daily Blog: http://wuliquidator.blogspot.com/
Umpire Email: searcher@willamette.edu

Given: one “assignment,” your goals;
· Remove them, and in doing so acquire their “assignment.”
· Protect yourself, mostly through paranoia.
· Outlast all other players.

Pre-Game Matters:
· Read these rules, you are responsible for knowing them and
. Fill out your “Personal Information” sheets and email them to searcher@willamette.edu as soon as possible. The last day to do this is Sunday, October 29th, before 8:00:00 PM.
· You will receive your first “assignment” prior to Halloween. It has yet to be determined if this will be done electronically or physically.
· The game will start the day after Halloween (November 1st, 12:00:00 AM).
· The game will end at the end of the semester (December 8th, 11:59:59 PM).

Ground Rules:
· All decisions made by the Umpire are final.
· You are “out” if you are dampened by your unknown opponent with H2O.
· Once a player is “out” both parties must report the “out” by email to the umpire searcher@willamette.edu ASAP. Any complaints that the “out” player might have should be filed at this time (this is your time to explain any rule violations that you felt took place).
· A player is also “out” if they have not gotten an “assignment” “out” in a 7 day period (their assignment will be redistributed according to the Umpire’s judgment).
· You may not get an “assignment” “out” in the designated “safe zones.”
· If the “assignment” hits you (outside a “safe zone”) before you hit them, they are safe until the next day begins (for the purposes of this game every day begins at 12:00:00 AM).
· There are no rules against contacting your “assignment.”

Safe Zones:
· The entire building in which you have a class during the hours that that class takes is in session, as well as a 15 minutes buffer before and after the class, is safe.
· The floor your dorm located is a safe zone. Common areas are not considered part of your floor. No part of a stairwell/way is part of your floor. (Kanako W and E are considered different floors for our purposes.)
· The area located within the walls of Goudy Commons is a safe zone.
· The “assignment’s” place of business if applicable, as well as a 100 yard buffer area around that. The umpire may make exceptions for those people that have a job that requires them to work outside of any specific building.
· Churches/places of worship and their grounds. (Assuming that the “assignment” is attending a service/function, they cannot run onto said property and be proclaimed safe.)
· Sporting events (including practices) of which the “assignment” is a part of (on the team, or must attend for some other reason). Thus, spectators are not safe, except from the athletes they have come to support (spectators can get each other “out” but spectators cannot get athletes “out” or vice versa).
· Medical facilities (assuming the “assignment” has an appointment/is in need of treatment, emergency or otherwise.)
· Mutual agreements can made between two or more parties and must be honored with honesty and integrity (don’t set your friend up) however they are only safe for the parties that made the agreement, should an outside party intrude they do not have to honor the agreed upon safe zone.
It should be noted your residence is not designated a safe zone, however please use your best judgment if you do decide to target your “assignment” at their home.

Legal Arms:
· Water guns of all sizes
· Water filled balloons
· Buckets of water
· Hoses
· Water Bottles
· Any other apparatus that expels H2O

Miscellaneous:
· Campus life has rules concerning water in dorms, mostly concerning the prevention of water damage. Please respect these rules and do not cause any permanent damage due to any attack or defense.
· Information pertaining to game such as; who got “out,” who got them “out,” or any other information will be updated daily at http://wuliquidator.blogspot.com/. This information will be more general and thus will lack the need of privacy provided by email.
· Communication will be conducted mainly through email, thus it is important that you continually check your email to learn of all game developments. If you do not respond to email in a timely manor the Umpire reserves the right to disqualify you.

It is important to realize that the spirit of the rules are more important then the rules themselves. Bare in mind it is only a game, and the ultimate goal is safe harmless fun. If an issue does arise the Umpire’s word will obviously be considered final.
